On February 19, 2025, the Chairman of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan - Head of the Secretariat of the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions Maulen Ashimbayev met with the Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) His Excellency Hissein Brahim Taha within the framework of participating in the Conference on Islamic Dialogue in Manama, Bahrain.
The parties discussed the ways to enhance cooperation between Kazakhstan and the OIC in various fields.
The Chairman of the Senate also conveyed the invitation of the Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to the Secretary General of the OIC to participate in the VIII Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions to be held in Astana, the Republic of Kazakhstan, on September 17-18, 2025.
