At the initiative of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Kazakhstan, a presentation of the book «Islam and an Honest Society» and the national academic and educational conference «Islamic Civilization During the Era of the Kazakh Khanate» were held
The events were attended by Gulsana Kozhabay, Chairperson of the Board of the International Center for Interfaith and Interreligious Dialogue, and Askar Kenzheyev, Director of the Department for Analysis and Monitoring of the Religious Situation.
At the opening of the book presentation, Nauryzbay Kazhy Taganuly, Chairman of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Kazakhstan and Supreme Mufti, outlined the objectives and key themes of the new publication and emphasized the importance of reading for personal growth and social development.
The events brought together prominent public figures, scholars, representatives of religious communities, and experts. In their remarks, participants noted that Islam and an Honest Society explores moral values essential to contemporary society, drawing on the Holy Quran and the life of the Prophet Muhammad. These values include honesty, justice, responsibility, family values, diligence, and a commitment to serving society.
The national academic and educational conference «Islamic Civilization During the Era of the Kazakh Khanate» focused on the history of Islam’s spread across the Kazakh steppe, the religious and cultural developments of the Kazakh Khanate period, Turkic-Muslim traditions, and questions relating to spiritual heritage.
Prominent historians presented their research findings and shared new insights into various periods of Kazakh history. In particular, they discussed the approaches adopted by notable Kazakh khans to the development of state laws, agreements concluded with neighboring states and khanates during periods of military confrontation, and significant historical decisions made at the time.
The scholars also presented compelling examples illustrating the close relationship between Islam, the nomadic way of life, and the traditional culture of the Kazakh people.
Special attention was given to the continuity of spiritual values and historical consciousness, as well as to the cultural and religious heritage of the Kazakh people.
Representatives of the International Center for Interfaith and Interreligious Dialogue exchanged views with representatives of public, religious, and academic communities on the study of historical and cultural heritage, the promotion of spiritual values, and the strengthening of mutual understanding, respect, and harmony in society.
