On 12–14 November 2025, a seminar-training dedicated to issues of religious studies expertise, information security, and the use of artificial intelligence technologies was held, organized by the Department of Religious Affairs of the Mangystau Region. The event brought together representatives of various government bodies, theologians, experts, and members of information and explanatory groups.
During the seminar, participants were provided with detailed explanations on analyzing religious content, identifying harmful materials, protecting the online space from destructive content, and mechanisms for ensuring information security. In addition, discussions were held on the capabilities of artificial intelligence in analyzing religious content, its effectiveness, and future application prospects.
The Director of the Department of Religious Expertise of the Center, Elmira Birali, took part in the seminar as a speaker. In her remarks, she emphasized the role of religious studies expertise in society and highlighted the following important points:
She noted that “Religious studies expertise is not only an instrument of scientific analysis, but also an important mechanism that ensures social stability, spiritual security, and the harmonious development of individuals.”
She also emphasized that “Religious studies expertise is aimed at determining the compliance of religious documents and materials with legal requirements, enabling the preservation of a balance between freedom of religion and public security.”
Participants of the seminar exchanged practical experience, discussed indicators of harmful religious content, modern methods for detecting it, and the legal foundations of expert work. This event, aimed at enhancing the professional competence of specialists, contributed to strengthening interagency cooperation and forming a common understanding in the field of information security.
