Spiritual Diplomacy: Patriarch of Jerusalem Designated as Goodwill Ambassador of the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions

Jerusalem, November 15, 2024 – The Ambassador of Kazakhstan Daulet Yemberdiyev met with His Beatitude Patriarch Theophilus III of Jerusalem and presented the Patriarch with a certificate recognizing his election as a Goodwill Ambassador of the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions.

During the ceremony, Patriarch Theophilus III expressed his gratitude for this significant recognition from Kazakhstan, commending President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and the leadership of the Congress Secretariat. He affirmed his commitment to collaborate in the noble endeavor of fostering a harmonious world through enhanced interfaith dialogue and mutual respect.

Ambassador Yemberdiyev conveyed his sincere gratitude to the Patriarch for his unwavering support of Kazakhstan's initiatives. He emphasized that the election of His Beatitude would invigorate global interfaith dialogue and bolster the institution of spiritual diplomacy internationally.

For reference: on October 8, 2024, during the XXII Meeting of the Secretariat of the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions in Astana, five Goodwill Ambassadors were elected, including Patriarch Theophilus III of Jerusalem and renowned Kazakh singer Dimash Kudaibergen.
