On February 20, the Chairman of the Board of the N.Nazarbayev Center for the Development of Interfaith and Intercivilizational Dialogue B.Sarsenbayev met with the International Envoy of the Secretariat-General of the Muslim World League Abdel Aziz bin Ahmad Sarhan.
The meeting was attended by the Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Religious Affairs of the Ministry of Information and Social Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan B.Bakirov, Director of the Office of the International Envoy of the General Secretariat of the MWL Faisal Ghazi Al-Hazmi, Head of the Staff of the Spiritual administration of Muslims of Kazakhstan G.Majiev, as well as employees of the Committee on Religious Affairs, Spiritual administration of Muslims of Kazakhstan and the N.Nazarbayev Center.
B.Sarsenbayev expressed gratitude to Abdel Aziz bin Ahmad Sarhan, as a participant of the XX Secretariat of the Congress, for supporting the initiatives of the Center in promoting peaceful dialogue and harmony.
In his turn, A.Sarkhan thanked the Kazakh side for the warm welcome and stressed the importance of the N.Nazarbayev Center in promoting intercivilizational and interreligious dialogue.
The participants of the meeting noted the special importance of promoting the ideas of the VII Congress of the Leaders of World and Traditional Religions and its final document – the Declaration signed by spiritual leaders of world and traditional religions, politicians, heads of international organizations.
The parties also agreed on further cooperation in the field of interfaith and intercultural dialogue.
