In order to establish cooperation with the heads of leading universities and research organizations of the country, Chairman of the Board of the N. Nazarbayev Center for Development of Interfaith and Intercivilization Dialogue Bulat Sarsenbayev on May 13 this year met with the rector of the Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University Takir Balykbaev.
Special During the meeting, attention was paid to the key goals and objectives of the N. Nazarbayev Center in promoting international initiatives of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan - Elbasy N. Nazarbayev, which are aimed at finding effective solutions in establishing interfaith harmony.
In particular, the rector of higher education institutions of Kazakhstan T. Balykbaev was informed about the implementation of a set of events timed to coincide with the 30th anniversary of Kazakhstan's Independence and plans to prepare for the 19th meeting of the Secretariat of the Congress in 2021 and the VII Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions in 2022.
Stressing the significant role of the Kazakh National Pedagogical University in the educational space of the country, B. Sarsenbayev noted the importance of supporting the scientific and expert community in promoting the unique Kazakhstani model of interreligious and intercivilizational dialogue.
Continuing the conversation, the rector of the national university T. Balykbayev expressed his readiness to make maximum efforts to develop partnership in spheres of mutual interest, to assist in the ongoing work of the of N. Nazarbayev Center in strengthening meekonfessional harmony and peace.
The parties agreed to sign an appropriate Memorandum of Cooperation in the field of joint events, the opening of dialogue platforms and discussion platforms on the interaction of religions, cultures and civilizations.
Following the meeting, Bulat Sarsenbayev invited the Rector of the Kazakh National Pedagogical University to take part in the opening of the international photo exhibition «Islam and Humanity: Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow», which will be held on May 17 this year in the Central State Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as in the upcoming international online conference «Neighborliness of Cultures in the 21st Century of Central Asian Countries» held by the N. Nazarbayev Center on May 20 of this year.
