Nurlan Khamzin is an experienced professional in finance, economics, and public administration, with over 20 years of experience in the banking sector and public institutions. He currently serves as Deputy Chairman of the Board at the Non-profit Joint-Stock Company “International Center for Interfaith and Interreligious Dialogue.”
He holds multiple university degrees across various fields. He graduated from the State Academy of Management with a degree in Finance and Credit in 2002, the Kazakhstan Institute of Transport and Communications with a degree in Law in 2012, and L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University with a technical specialization in 2019.
Mr. Khamzin began his professional career in 2002 as Deputy Director at the LLP “Daria.” Later that year, he joined the Satpayev regional branch of the JSC “Halyk Bank of Kazakhstan” as a Controller-Cashier and was later promoted to Credit Department Manager, a position he held until 2004.
Between 2005–2006, Mr. Khamzin served as an accountant at the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan. In 2007, he worked as a monitoring analyst at the JSC “Astana Finance.”
From 2007 to 2018, he held various positions at the Astana branch of the JSC “Tsesnabank,” progressing from Credit Officer to Head of Department, gaining extensive experience in banking operations and financial management.
Since 2019, Mr. Khamzin has worked in the quasi-public sector. He served as Chief Economist at the Non-profit Joint-Stock Company “N. Nazarbayev Center for the Development of Interfaith and Inter-civilizational Dialogue,” and was appointed Director of the Department of Economics, Finance, and Administrative Affairs in 2023.
In March 2026, Mr. Khamzin was appointed Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Non-profit Joint-Stock Company “International Center for Interfaith and Interreligious Dialogue.” In his current role, he oversees financial and economic activities, administrative management, and organizational development.
