Today, on April 27, the Chairman of the Board of the N. Nazarbayev Center for development of interfaith and intercivilizational dialogue Bulat Sarsenbayev met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Kazakhstan Batyr Rejepow.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the prospects for bilateral relations on issues of interfaith and interreligious cooperation.
Chairman of the Management Board Bulat Sarsenbayev spoke in detail about the global initiatives of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan - Elbasy N.A. Nazarbayev, preparatory work for the XIX Secretariat of the Congress this year, in order to hold the next VII Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions, which will be held in 2022, and also shared information about the upcoming events of the Center for the 30th anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Bulat Sarsenbayev stressed that Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan are connected not only by geographical, but also by cultural and historical proximity of the peoples of the two countries, the origins of which originate from the depths of centuries. In addition, the principles of mutual respect and good neighborliness laid down by our ancestors became the basis for the establishment and development of diplomatic relations after Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan gained state sovereignty.
In turn, the Ambassador of Turkmenistan noted the outstanding contribution of Elbasy N. Nazarbayev and the wise policy of peace and harmony of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan K. Tokayev, which allowed Kazakhstan to take a special place in the international arena. At the same time, he expressed his interest and readiness to further expand productive interaction with the Nazarbayev Center in the field of interfaith dialogue, and also confirmed further support for the international platform - the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions and its institutions.
Following the meeting, Bulat Sarsenbayev invited the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to take part in the upcoming international online conference «Neighborliness of cultures in the 21st century of Central Asian countries», which will be held on May 20 this year within the framework of the 30th anniversary of Kazakhstan's Independence.
