On 16 April this year, Chairman of the Agency for Religious Affairs Kairat Lama Sharif met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to Kazakhstan Mikhail Bocharnikov.
At the meeting they discussed the preparations for the IV Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions, the parties paid special attention to the visit of Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill, Chairman of the Council of Muftis of Russia Ravil Gainutdin, and to the participation of invited religious scholars and prominent public figures of Russia.
“The Russian side deeply respects and supports the initiative of President Nursultan Nazarbayev to hold the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions. I believe, the participation of Patriarch Kirill at the IV Congress will bring constructive interaction of our countries to an even higher level”, - said Ambassador of Russia to Astana Michael Bocharnikov.
