The meeting of K.Mami high ranking Vatican representatives

During his visit to the Vatican Chairman of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kayrat Mami, met with Ablegate, dean of the College of Cardinals of the Holy See, Cardinal Angelo Sodano, Secretary for Relations with States, Secretariat of State of Vatican, Dominique François Joseph Mamberti, as well as Chairman of the Pontifical Council for Inter-religious Dialogue, Jean- Louis Tauran.
At meetings, the Parties exchanged views on topical issues of cooperation between Kazakhstan and the Vatican, as well as activities of the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions.
The round table dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions took place in the Pontifical Council for Inter-religious Dialogue.
In addition, K.Mami opened the photo exhibition on the theme of the 10th anniversary of the Congress. In his speech, the Speaker noted that for ten years Astana Forum proved its relevance and has become an effective platform to promote global dialogue.
 “By a twist of fate Kazakh land has become the second home for thousands of Catholics. Currently, 79 Catholic communities operate in Kazakhstan”- the Speaker said to the audience.
He highlighted that the Vatican was represented at a high level at all four Congresses in Astana. “We are grateful to everyone who supported the initiative of Kazakhstan and, especially, to the prominent members of the clergy who took part in the Astana Economic Forum”, - he said.
