Elmira Birali, Director of the Department for Religious Expertise at the International Center for Interfaith and Interreligious Dialogue (ICIID), took part in the republican forum “Contemporary Approaches and Legal Frameworks in Religious Expertise,” organized by the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Kazakhstan.
The forum convened scholars, analysts, and practitioners to examine current methodologies, legal instruments of regulation, and emerging challenges related to information and public security in the religious sphere.
During the event, Elmira Birali delivered a presentation entitled “Key Aspects of Conducting Comprehensive Analysis of Information Materials in the Religious Sphere,” highlighting the role of professional assessment in strengthening information security and preventing the spread of destructive content.
According to Elmira Birali, in today’s digital environment religion has evolved beyond a system of spiritual values and beliefs into a major informational phenomenon disseminated through social media, messaging applications, and online platforms. Against this backdrop, professional review now extends beyond textual analysis to assessing the broader impact of digital content, including deepfake technologies, on public consciousness and societal stability.
The event concluded with the Chairman of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Kazakhstan, Supreme Mufti Nauryzbay Kazhy Taganuly, presenting Elmira Birali with a letter of appreciation in recognition of her contribution to the advancement of this field.
