On March 5, 2026, Chair of the Board of the International Center for Interfaith and Interreligious Dialogue, Gulsana Kozhabay, met with the Apostolic Nuncio of the Holy See to the Republic of Kazakhstan, George Panamthundil.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the development of interreligious dialogue and prospects for further cooperation. Particular attention was given to the possibility of holding a commemorative event to mark the first anniversary of the passing of Pope Francis.
The meeting included discussions on possible collaboration with the Bambino Gesù community.This cooperation, within the context of the Congress of the Leaders of World and Traditional Religions, would focus on initiatives dedicated to the protection of children in armed conflict zones.
Furthermore, the parties emphasized the importance of preparations for an upcoming online meeting with the Dicastery for Interreligious Dialogue. The session will focus on the organizational matters of the II Joint Colloquium, scheduled to take place in Astana later this year.
