Astana today officially opened the 2nd International Quran Recitation Competition, organized by the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Kazakhstan (SAMK) in honor of Republic Day and the 35th anniversary of SAMK.
The competition, held at the Republican Mosque in Astana, brings together top Quran reciters from 20 countries, including Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Bahrain, Iran, Russia, Chechnya, Morocco, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Palestine, Azerbaijan, the UAE, Tatarstan, Indonesia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Egypt, Malaysia, Algeria, and Pakistan. Participants compete in the full memorization and recitation of the Holy Quran.
The panel of judges includes experienced and respected Quran reciters from Kazakhstan, Turkey, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and Kyrgyzstan.
The event was attended by M. Kalizhanov, Deputy Chairman of the International Center for Interfaith and Interreligious Dialogue. These initiatives highlight the importance of promoting religious harmony, dialogue, and cooperation at both the national and international levels.
