Internship at the Research Centre for Islamic History, Art and Culture (IRCICA)

From July 17 to 18, Tatyana Lipina, Director of the Department of Religious Studies and Dina Imanmukhamed, Analyst-Manager, completed an internship "Methodological Approaches in the Study of Ethno-Religious Relations" at the Research Centre for Islamic History, Art and Culture (IRCICA).

IRCICA operating under the Organization of Islamic Cooperation is an international research institute specializing in the study of the history, culture, and art of the Islamic world. Additionally, it conducts research aimed at strengthening ties between countries within and beyond the OIC through cultural exchange and fostering harmonious relations between Muslim and other communities.

The internship program included lectures and seminars on methodological approaches to analyzing ethno-religious interactions and religious identity, cross-cultural studies of the role of religious identity in interethnic relations, interfaith dialogue and its implementation at IRCICA, as well as the role of social modernization in ensuring national unity, among other topics.

The sessions were conducted by highly qualified specialists, including: Professor Dr. Abubakar Abdullah Senghor, Deputy Director-General of IRCICA and former Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research of Gambia (2014-2018); Professor Dr. Sadyk Unay, Senior Advisor and Chief Program Coordinator of IRCICA, Professor at Istanbul University, and Visiting Professor at Manchester University and the University of Birmingham; Professor Dr. Cengiz Tomar, Head of Research and Publications at IRCICA and former First Vice-Rector of Akhmet Yassawi International Kazakh-Turkish University until 2021.

The internship was mentored by Samet Yalcin, Program Coordinator and Publications Editor at IRCICA, PhD candidate at Kunstuniversität Linz.

During the internship, the staff members had a unique opportunity to familiarize themselves with the extensive book and archive collections of IRCICA and conduct research using these resources.

Upon finishing the internship program, participants received certificates.
