On November 28, 2021, as part of a working trip to Jordan, Chairman of the Board of N. Nazarbayev Center for Development of Interfaith and Intercivilization Dialogue Bulat Sarsenbayev invited the Prince of Hashemite Kingdom Hassan bin Talal to take part in the VII Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions on September 14-15, 2022.
During the meeting, Bulat Sarsenbayev noted the high level of relations between Kazakhstan and Jordan, as evidenced by the participation of King Abdullah II in the work of the V Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions on June 10-11, 2015, as well as his official visit to Kazakhstan in 2017, the main event of which was the presentation of the first «N. Nazarbayev Prize for Contribution to a World without Nuclear Weapons and Global Security».
In addition, Chairman of the Board of N. Nazarbayev Center dwelled on the activities of the Center in promoting the initiatives of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan – Elbasy N. Nazarbayev to preserve and ensure interfaith and intercivilizational dialogue. It was emphasized that the issues of interreligious harmony and unity are in the constant focus of attention of the President of Kazakhstan K.Tokayev.
Bulat Sarsenbayev also informed about plans to prepare for the VII Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions, informed about international projects and events dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan, upcoming round tables on interfaith harmony held with the participation of domestic and foreign experts.
In turn, Prince Hassan bin Talal, noting the scale and significance of Kazakhstan's work at the international level on strengthening and developing interfaith dialogue, and also emphasizing the uniqueness of the interfaith dialogue platform of the Congress throughout the world, expressed gratitude to the Kazakh side for the invitation, as well as the intention to accept participation in such a significant international event – VII Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed on cooperation in the framework of preparatory work for the upcoming Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions.
