On October 7 of this year, Commissioner for promoting the goals and objectives of the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions, Chairman of the Board of the N. Nazarbayev Center for the Development of Interfaith and Intercivilizational Dialogue B. Sarsenbayev held a meeting with a member of the Secretariat of the Congress, Director General of the Islamic Research Institute at the International Islamic University, Islamabad (Islamic Republic of Pakistan) Muhammad Zia Ul Haq.
The parties discussed the preparation for the next VII Congress, as well as the prospects for developing cooperation between the Center and the Islamic Research Institute at the International Islamic University in the development of interreligious and interfaith dialogue in the context of the implementation of a joint Memorandum of Understanding with the Institute, which was concluded on September 17, 2019 within the framework of the Working Group meeting XVIII Secretariat of the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions.
The Chairman of the Management Board of the Center also thanked Mohamed Zia Ul Haq for his active participation in the meetings of the Working Group and the Secretariat of the Congress.
In turn, expressing gratitude to B. Sarsenbayev for a personal meeting and warm welcome, Muhammad Zia Ul Haq invited the Chairman of the Management Board of the Center N. Nazarbayev to the upcoming international conference «Paigham-e Pakistan conference and peacemaking, national integration, social cohesion and interfaith harmony», which will be held on 27 December 2021 in Islamabad (Pakistan).
In addition, with the support of the Center N. Nazarbayev, Mohammed Zia Ul Haq held a number of meetings with the Chairman of the Board – Rector of NJSC «KazNU named after al-Farabi» Zh. Tuymebayev and the Deputy Director General for International Cooperation and Strategic Development of R. Suleimenov Institute of Oriental Studies of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan K. Masabaev in the online format and also met with Vice-Rector for Science, Commercialization and Internationalization G. Merzadinova and Vice-Rector for Social and Civil Development D. Kamzabekuly of the L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University for the purposes of development fruitful cooperation.
