In Almaty, on September 22 of this year, a training seminar on countering religious extremism and terrorism was held, organized by the Almaty Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan named after M. Esbulatov in the framework of the implementation of a joint memorandum of cooperation with N.Nazarbayev Center of for Development of Interfaith and Intercivilization Dialogue.
On behalf of the Center, Director of Department of Methodological Work D. Yessenova and chief expert S. Alimkulova, Deputy Head of the Almaty Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan named after M. Esbulatov, Doctor of Law, Associate Professor A. Baiseitov, Head of the Faculty of the Academy of the National Security Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan E. Muratbekov, head of the Department for Coordination of Prevention of Religious Extremism in the Internet Space of Committee on Religious Affairs of the Ministry of Information and Social Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan Zh. Doliyev, as well as other Kazakhstani experts, cadets of the Academy took part in the seminar.
Welcoming the participants of the seminar, in his video message, the Commissioner for the Promotion of the Goals and Objectives of the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions, Chairman of the Board of N. Nazarbayev Center B. Sarsenbayev noted that the issues of ensuring national and regional security, prevention of religious extremism have always been and are the most important goals of external and domestic policy of Kazakhstan. This strategic goal was also voiced by the Head of State K. Tokayev in his Address to the people of Kazakhstan – «The unity of the people and systemic reforms are a solid basis for the country's prosperity».
«N. Nazarbayev Center is a key driver of the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions. Responsible body for the development of its organizational, practical and conceptual foundations. On October 5-6, representatives of the spiritual leaders of Islam, Christianity, Judaism, Buddhism, Hinduism, Taoism, Shintoism from more than 20 countries will gather in Nur-Sultan to participate in the XIX meeting of the Secretariat of the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions. I am sure that this event contributes to the further effective promotion of interfaith and intercivilizational dialogue at the international level», - emphasized the Head of the Center.
As a result of the event, the participants in the training seminar expressed their readiness to provide comprehensive support in the implementation of joint events and projects on countering religious extremism and terrorism.
At the end of the seminar, the participants were awarded certificates.
