September 6 this year a bilateral meeting of Chairman of the Managemnet Board of N. Nazarbayev Center for Development of Interfaith and Intercivilization Dialogue B. Sarsenbayev with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the Republic of Kazakhstan Abdulaziz al-Daud took place.
During the meeting, an exchange of views took place on the state and prospects of further cooperation in the field of interreligious and intercultural dialogue.
Bulat Sarsenbayev acquainted Mr. Abdulaziz al-Daud with the priority areas of activity, goals and objectives of N. Nazarbayev Center, shared plans for international events dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and also told about the large-scale preparation for the upcoming XIX meeting of the Secretariat of the Congress of World Leaders and traditional religions under the leadership of the Chairman of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan – Head of the Secretariat of the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions M. Ashimbayev, which will be held on October 6 this year in Nur-Sultan.
In addition, the Head of the Center emphasized that on the eve of the XIX meeting of the Secretariat of the Congress, the Center, with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Ministry of Education and Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan, on the basis of diplomatic missions abroad, is holding a series of round tables aimed at promoting the key initiatives of the Elbasy to ensure and preserve interfaith dialogue, the development of a unique international platform – Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions at the global level.
In particular, Bulat Sarsenbayev invited Mr. Abdulaziz al-Daud to take part in a round table to be held in Riyadh on September 20 this year.
The Ambassador of Saudi Arabia expressed interest in participating in the events of the Center, in particular in the work of the international round table, and also indicated his willingness to cooperate on promoting the ideas of the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions.
