Chairman of the Senate and Head of the Secretariat of the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions Maulen Ashimbayev met with Vatican Ambassador - Apostolic Nuncio to Kazakhstan Francis Assisi Chullikatt.
The issues of developing inter-religious dialogue and enhancing public consent in the country were discussed at the meeting.
Maulen Ashimbayev reminded that this year marks the 28th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Vatican and Kazakhstan. According to the Senate Speaker, in this time Kazakhstan and the Vatican have established meaningful interaction that is based on total mutual understanding and cooperation.
The Head of the Secretariat of the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions highlighted the work of spiritual leaders of the Catholic Church in Kazakhstan, who aspire to foster tolerant and respectful attitude towards representatives of different religions and ethnic groups in our society.
Maulen Ashimbayev and Francis Assisi Chullikatt also reiterated their intention to continue constructive interaction as part of the activities of the Secretariat of the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions.
