On April 9, 2026, the International Center for Interfaith and Interreligious Dialogue hosted a delegation of faculty and students from the International Islamic Academy of Uzbekistan (IIAU).

During the meeting, the Kazakhstani side presented the Center’s activities as a key institutional platform supporting the permanent activities of the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions and its Secretariat. They also highlighted the development of international initiatives on pressing global issues, including climate change and artificial intelligence (AI).

The unique role of the Center was emphasized as the sole entity providing expert and analytical support for Kazakhstan’s state-confessional policy.

Representatives of the IIAU provided an overview of the Academy’s educational and scientific activities, noting the development of interdisciplinary programs in religious studies, Islamic studies, and the psychology of religion. They also discussed international cooperation, academic mobility, and participation in research projects aimed at preventing radicalization and strengthening interfaith dialogue.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both parties confirmed their mutual interest in further developing cooperation, including the expansion of collaboration and the exchange of expertise in the field of interreligious dialogue.
