On September 7, 2026, Gulsana Kozhabay, Chair of the Board of the International Center for Interfaith and Interreligious Dialogue, met with Bishop Rostislav Novgorodov of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
During the meeting, the parties discussed further development of interfaith and interreligious dialogue, cooperation with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Kazakhstan, as well as preparations for the upcoming XXIV Meeting of the Secretariat of the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions.
Gulsana Kozhabay emphasized the importance of the participation of representatives of Kazakhstan’s traditional religious communities in strengthening social harmony, promoting a culture of mutual respect, and fostering constructive dialogue among religious communities. In this context, the active engagement of Bishop Rostislav Novgorodov in advancing interreligious cooperation and his contribution to promoting the values and objectives of the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions were highlighted.
Following the meeting, the parties expressed mutual interest in further expanding their partnership and readiness to implement joint initiatives aimed at strengthening global interreligious dialogue.
