Kazakhstan President invites Al-Azhar Grand Imam to attend conference of religious leaders in Astana next year

President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held a conversation with the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar University, Ahmed el-Tayeb. The Kazakh leader noted that the Kazakh people respect Al-Azhar University, which is a beacon of knowledge, peace and spiritual guidance for the Islamic nation. The Kazakh president expressed his gratitude to the Grand Imam for his contribution to promoting tolerance, interfaith dialogue and spreading the true principles of Islam, noting that these values ​​are gaining even greater importance in today's divided and fragmented world. President Tokayev invited Sheikh Ahmed el-Tayeb to attend the 8th Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions, scheduled to be held in Astana next year. The meeting also discussed opportunities for enhancing cooperation in the field of religious education and scientific study.
