On April 19-20, Chairman of the Board of the N.Nazarbayev Center for the Development of Interfaith and Intercivilizational Dialogue Bulat Sarsenbayev visited the Kyzylorda region.
During the trip, the Chairman of the Board held a meeting with the Head of the Department of Religious Affairs of the region, where he, as the Commissioner for the promotion of the goals and objectives of the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions, informed about the work of the Center for the organization and preparation of the VII Congress and noted its contribution to the global process of interreligious and interfaith dialogue.
During a visit to religious sites of the region, B.Sarsenbayev met with the Grand Imam of the Kazakhstan Muslims spiritual department for the Kyzylorda region and the central mosque "Akmeshit-Syrdaria" B.Abuov, as well as the Head of the Holy Kazan Church of the Icon of the Mother of God, Archpriest V.Ivashinin.
Bulat Sarsenbayev noted that the upcoming VII Congress will be one of the main international events of the year, in which Kazakhstan will demonstrate to the world its commitment to the ideas of tolerance, openness, mutual respect and trust between the state and society.
Also, as part of the trip, the Chairman of the Board of the Center visited Kyzylorda State University, where he delivered a lecture to students of the Faculty of History. During the meeting with the rector of the largest university in the region, B.Karimova, the prospects of mutual cooperation between the Center and the university were discussed. B.Sarsenbayev stressed the importance of fostering tolerance among the younger generation, which is formed through science and quality education.
It is important to note that the teachers of the Korkyt Ata University acted as respondents in the framework of the sociological research of the Center in the Kyzylorda region, which is currently being conducted by employees of the Department of Religious Studies R.Kamarova and D.Zhakiyanov.
