President of the Agency for Religious Affairs, Kayrat Lama Sharif, met in Moscow with the President of the Interparliamentary Assembly of Orthodoxy, Deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, Sergei Popov, and handed him an invitation to the IV Congress of world and traditional religions on behalf of Chairman of the Senate of the Parliament, Head of the Secretariat of the Congress, Kayrat Mami.
Accepting the invitation, Sergei Popov noted that for the MAO General Assembly meeting held in Astana in 2007, the following theme was chosen: “Interreligious dialogue as a factor of peaceful and fair relations between nations”, which once again confirmed high prestige of Kazakhstan as to the issues of inter-religious cooperation.
The Chairman of the Agency for Religious Affairs also held a meeting with representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, during which an invitation to member of the Commission on Religious Associations, Deputy Foreign Minister of the RF, Grigory Karasin, to the IV Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions.
