On July 1, the International Centre for Interfaith and Interreligious Dialogue, in cooperation with the Youth Research Centre, hosted a working meeting with PhD candidates from various regions of Kazakhstan.
The discussion brought together more than 20 young researchers pursuing doctoral studies at the country's leading universities in such fields as philology, education, turkology, economics, law and other humanities and social sciences.
The meeting aimed to familiarize the academic community with the activities of the Centre and to discuss current issues in the field of interfaith dialogue.
The official part of the event was opened by Marat Kalizhanov, Deputy Chair of the Board of the International Centre. In his remarks, he provided a comprehensive overview of the Centre's main areas of activity. In particular, he introduced the participants to the Centre's organizational structure and key functions, the mechanisms supporting the Secretariat and the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions, as well as the development of international partnerships and cooperation in the field of interreligious dialogue.
The presentation continued with an address by Tatyana Lipina, Deputy Chair of the Board, who focused on the Centre's research activities. She outlined the Centre's work in conducting comprehensive religious studies, carrying out systematic monitoring and analysis of the religious situation in the Republic of Kazakhstan, and organizing expert assessments in the field of religious studies. She emphasized that the Centre regularly produces high-quality analytical materials that contribute to the development of effective policies in the religious sphere.
The meeting was held in a constructive and friendly atmosphere. At the conclusion of the event, representatives of the Centre thanked the PhD candidates for their active participation, emphasized the importance of engaging young scholars in the study of social processes, and wished them success in their future research and the successful defense of their doctoral dissertations.
