Students at the Khoja Ahmed Yasawi International Kazakh-Turkish University were introduced to the Astana Declaration of Peace 2025 and the history of the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions

The International Center for Interfaith and Interreligious Dialogue held a lecture at the Khoja Ahmed Yasawi International Kazakh-Turkish University to promote the 2025 Astana Peace Declaration, adopted at the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions.

Participants of the event were students from the faculty of theology, faculty members, and university representatives.

In her welcoming remarks, Dinara Zharkynbayeva, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Theology, noted the importance of the lecture for nurturing youth in a spirit of respect, mutual understanding, and open dialogue between cultures and religions.

Zhansulu Mazan, chief expert, Consolidated Analytical Department spoke to students about the history of the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions, which for over two decades has served as a unique international platform for fostering dialogue between different faiths and religions.

Particular attention was paid to the contents of the 2025 Astana Peace Declaration.  She explained in detail the main provisions of the declaration, from the development of ethical principles for the use of artificial intelligence to environmental protection and climate change.

The students were particularly interested in the declaration's provisions on engaging youth and women in interreligious and intercultural dialogue. The lecture continued with a lively discussion on the role of religion in the modern world and the prospects for interreligious dialogue.

Zhansulu Mazan emphasized that the 2025 Astana Peace Declaration reflects the global community's desire to strengthen trust, justice, and cooperation. The document has been translated into ten languages ​​and distributed among the international partners of the Congress as an official document of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly. The Declaration also echoes the call by the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, to form a new concept for the Global Peace Movement.
