As part of its international efforts to strengthen the values of tolerance, peaceful coexistence, and mutual understanding, H.E. Ahmed bin Mohammed Aljarwan, President of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace, was awarded the Medal of Honor of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The award, instituted by a decree of H.E. Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, was presented by H.E. Rauan Zhumabek, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the United Arab Emirates, during an official meeting held in Sharjah. This recognition underscores Ahmed bin Mohammed Aljarwan’s significant contribution to advancing dialogue among religions, cultures, and civilizations.
During the meeting, particular attention was given to the activities of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace, including its international initiatives in peacebuilding, countering extremism and hate speech, and promoting constructive intercivilizational dialogue. The Council’s work makes a meaningful contribution to fostering a global culture of respect, inclusivity, and cooperation.
Expressing his appreciation for the honor, the President of the Global Council noted that the award serves as an important incentive to further expand efforts to promote the values of tolerance and peace, as well as to strengthen international cooperation in service of universal human values.
The meeting also highlighted the strategic role of the Republic of Kazakhstan in promoting interfaith and intercultural dialogue. It was noted that Kazakhstan’s initiatives have firmly established Astana as a respected global platform for dialogue and mutual understanding among religious, intellectual, and public leaders from around the world.
