On August 17, the Chairman of the Board of the N.Nazarbayev Center for the Development of Interfaith and Intercivilizational Dialogue B.Sarsenbayev signed online memorandum of understanding with the Acting rector of the Bolgar Islamic Academy of the Republic of Tatarstan A.Timerkhanov.
The purpose of signing the memorandum to implement mutual cooperation in the field of interreligious and intercultural dialogue.
The memorandum showcases the exchange of information, experience, the implementation of joint projects and events, organization of meetings, forums and conferences of mutual interest.
The parties noted that the conclusion of this memorandum will give impetus to the joint implementation of the mission to unite cultures, religions and civilizations at the international level.
During the signing of the memorandum, B. Sarsenbayev informed about the work of the Center for organizing and preparing the VII Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions, which will be held on September 14-15 in Kazakhstan, with participation of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym - Jomart Tokayev. On September 13, the XX session of the Congress Secretariat will be held by the Speaker of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Head of the Secretariat of the Congress of the Leaders of World and Traditional Religions M.Ashimbayev. Also noted that the unique dialogue platform of the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions aimed for promoting the ideas of tolerance, openness, mutual respect and faith between all confessions and religions.
In his turn, A. Timerkhanov emphasized that the Academy supports the initiatives of the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions to promote peace and harmony between all peoples and religions, and also to consolidate further mutual partnership to popularize spiritual traditions and values.
Noted on May 19-21, the Chairman of the Board of the Center B. Sarsenbayev took part in the XIII International Economic Summit: "Russia - the Islamic world: "KazanSummit 2022". In order to further promote the Congress on the international arena, on the summit, the Chairman of the Board discussed the prospects for mutually beneficial cooperation to the development of interreligious dialogue with the Acting rector of the Bolgar Islamic Academy of the Republic of Tatarstan A. Timerkhanov. The parties decided to sign a memorandum of understanding and cooperation and expressed their comprehensive willingness to further implement common projects.
For reference: The Bulgarian Islamic Academy was established on November 4, 2015. By the Decree of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan "On the establishment of the Bolgar Islamic Academy and the reconstruction of the Cathedral of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God". The Academy is the highest in the system of national Islamic education.
Today it is a modern leading scientific and educational center. The activity is aimed at solving one of the key strategic tasks – the training of highly qualified and competitive religious figures, scientists and theologians, designed to form the personnel elite of the national Islam and the Muslim Ummah of Russia (Republic of Tatarstan).
