On November 23 of this year, in Bishkek, an international round table in an online format was held on the topic: "Interfaith and intercivilizational dialogue for peace and harmony", timed to coincide with the 30th anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The event was organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Kyrgyz Republic, N. Nazarbayev Center for Development of Interfaith and Intercivilization Dialogue.
The round table was attended by Counselor of the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Kyrgyz Republic A. Syzdykov, Counselor of the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in the Republic of Kazakhstan R. Matkerimov, Deputy Director of the State Commission on Religious Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic G. Isayeva, Head of the Institute for Analysis of the Religious Situation and Religious expertise of N. Nazarbayev Center Yerzhan Baibol, representatives of the largest research, analytical structures, higher educational institutions and religious associations of the two countries.
The experts discussed the achievements and strategic initiatives of Kazakhstan over the years of Independence in the interreligious sphere in the country and in the world.
It was noted that thanks to the forward-looking policy of the First President of Kazakhstan – Elbasy N. Nazarbayev in promoting the principles of spiritual diplomacy in the international arena and the initiative to hold the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions, the Kazakh experience of interfaith harmony and tolerance has become in demand on a global scale. The experts also emphasized the continuity and significance of the reforms carried out by the Head of State K. Tokayev, aimed at strengthening peace, harmony and stability in society.
In general, the participants of the round table expressed strong support for the initiatives of Kazakhstan in promoting in the international arena a unique Kazakhstan model of interaction between ethnic groups and religions, the goals of the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions, and also agreed to continue the purposeful work to exchange practical experience in the effective development of interfaith dialogue in the framework of joint activities.
It should be reminded that holding international round tables on interfaith harmony in the name of peace and harmony is also planned in Armenia, Hungary, Germany, Malaysia and Turkey.
