At the invitation of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Republic of Kazakhstan P.V. Utyupin, on June 22, 2021 in Nur-Sultan, Chairman of the Board of the N.Nazarbayev Center for the Development of Interfaith and Inter-civilization Dialogue Bulat Sarsenbayev attended the grand opening of the exhibition «Forest Song», organized by the National Academic Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Embassy of Belarus in the Republic of Kazakhstan, the National Library of the Republic of Belarus.

The exhibition «Forest Song» is dedicated to the partisan movement in Belarus during the Great Patriotic War. The unique exposition provides an opportunity to touch the history of the Belarusian partisan movement through documents of that time: various handwritten materials, leaflets, propaganda posters, newspapers, photographs, plot sketches, excerpts from stories, poems, poems and songs.

Within the framework of the exhibition dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the beginning of the Great Patriotic War, the Kemel Tokayev Hall dedicated to the Victory in the Great Patriotic War was also opened in the National Academic Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

It should be noted that during the war, about 3.5 thousand Kazakhstan actively participated in the partisan movement, half of them did not return home.

The names of such heroes of the partisan movement as Galym Akhmedyarov, Satimbek Tuleshev, Galym Omarov, Nurym Sadykov, Kasym Kaisenov, Malik Gabdullin and others became widely known. Among them, the women of Kazakhstan, Nurganym Baiseitova, Turgash Zhumabayeva, Zhamal Akadilova, fought selflessly.

In addition, at the event, on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the beginning of the Great Patriotic War, poetic addresses were made by the heads of the foreign affairs agencies of the CIS countries, addressed to the modern generation about eternal values and uniting efforts to build a world without wars and conflicts.

The exhibition was attended by ambassadors of foreign diplomatic missions of Belarus, Russia, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Executive Director of the CICA Secretariat Kairat Sarybai, as well as descendants of the Great Patriotic War participants who fought for the Motherland and the peaceful life of their people.

Among them, Serik Egizbayev, vice minister of information and social development of the Republic of Kazakhstan, his father went through the war in partisan detachments on the territory of Belarus.

In their speeches, Kairat Sarybai and Serik Egizbayev spoke about the heroic time, which showed the whole world the strength and endurance of our grandfathers and great-grandfathers, who defended their people and country.

Unfortunately, time is inexorable, and every year there are fewer witnesses of those terrible years, veterans, heroes. Our duty is to preserve the memory, defend the truth, their good name and protect the world.

Noting the historical and at the same time tragic event, the participants of the event consider it important to remind the world community of the need to respect common history, moral and spiritual guidelines, value and protect peace and harmony in society.
