The 37th session of the OIC to be held on May, 18-20

At present time the representatives of about 30 member states of the Organization of the Islamic Conference confirmed their participation in 37th session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of OIC to be held in Dushanbe from 18th to 20th of May, 2010.

Pursuant to the words of the representative of foreign-policy agency of Tajikistan, the charter flights will be organized to the capital of the Republic of Tajikistan from Jidda and Dubai, taking into account the difficulties concerning the flights from some member states of OIC, „Asia Plus“ informed.
"Rooms for namaz (Muslim prayer) will be organized in the meeting room, where the session is planned", the MFA source noted.
Pursuant to MFA’s data, the discussion of political, economical problems and problems of the struggle against international terrorism is expected in the process of the session which will be firstly held in Tajikistan. "Emomali Rakhmon, the President of RT, is expected to make a speech at the day of the session opening", the source stressed.
    
It is necessary to remember the decision to organize the regular session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of OIC in Tajik capital was taken in Damascus pursuant to the results of the 36th session on May of the last year.
The Organization of the Islamic Conference was founded on September 1969 at the conference of the Heads of the States and the Governments of Muslim states in Rabat (Morocco). Actually every state announcing of its belonging to the Muslim world may be the member of the OIC.
Today 57 countries are the members of the OIC. Observer status exists under the OIC. Tajikistan was accepted to the OIC in 1992. Russia has the status of the observer in this organization since 2005.
