Special envoy of the President to Vatican, Deputy Senate, Gani Kasymov, conveyed to Pope Benedict XVI the special invitation of President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, to take part in the IV Congress of world and traditional religions to be held on 30-31 May of this year in Astana. 

During his stay in Vatican, the head of the Kazakhstan delegation, G.Kasymov, also conveyed an official invitation of the Chairman of the Senate, Kayrat Mami, to the president of the Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialogue, Jean-Louis Toran, Vatican Secretary of State, Tarcisio Bertone,  founder of the Society of St. Egidio, Andrea Riccardi.

Representatives of the Roman Catholic Church stressed the importance of the initiative of President, Nursultan Nazarbayev, to convene the Congress of religious leaders and the contribution of Kazakhstan to promotion of the global dialogue of cultures and religions.

At the meeting with the Kazakhstan delegation the representatives of  the Roman Catholic Church expressed their willingness to participate in the spiritual forum in Astana at the highest level.
