On March 23, 2012, in Moscow, Astana Akim Imangali Tasmagambetov handed Chairman of the Council of Muftis of Russia, Ravil Gaynutdin, an official invitation to the IV Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions, which will be held on May 30-31 in the capital of Kazakhstan.
During a meeting with Kazakh delegation Chairman of the Council of Muftis of Russia, Ravil Gaynutdin, stressed that the Muslims of Kazakhstan and Russia have good friendly relations and thanked for the fact that the Kazakhstan side supported the initiative on reconstruction of the Moscow Cathedral Mosque. Also, Ravil Gainutdin was awarded the medal “20 years of independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan” on behalf of President, Nursultan Nazarbayev.
“I take this award as a contribution of Russian Muslims, all our Muslims to development of our friendship, mutual understanding and brotherhood between our peoples and our countries”, - Gainutdin said.
The meeting was attended by Chairman of the Agency for Religious Affairs, Kairat Lama Sharif, and Ambassador of Kazakhstan in Russi, Zautbek Turisbekov.
