Astana will accommodate the V Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions to be held 10-11 June 2015. Its main subject will be “the Dialogue of Religious Leaders and Politicians in the Name of Peace and Development” as resolved today based on outcomes of the Secretariat Session.
In his final speech Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev, Chairman of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, cited what Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev had said at the IV Congress: Congresses have contributed largely to keep the world from falling into the abyss of “clash of civilizations”.
The Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions initiated by the Head of State marked its 10th anniversary last year. In the course of these years Astana Forum participants have been clearly demonstrating that the dialogue, mutual understanding and respect are powerful constructive forces capable to ensure the prosperity and peaceful coexistence of different cultures and beliefs, said K. Tokayev.
Covering objectives of the upcoming Confessions Forum Head of the Secretariat express his confidence that the V Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions continue seeking an optimal model for interaction between religious hierarchs and political leaders in the name of sustainable world and accord on our planet.
The balance in the world largely depends on dialogue and harmony between people. Therefore, we oppose a dialogue among religions and culture of spiritual unity and accord of the mankind to hostility or hatred on religious grounds. And may the good luck accompany us in this noble quest - said Chairman of the Senate.
Session participants covered all items of the Agenda and approved the Protocol of the XIII Secretariat Session and identified the date and venue for the XIV Secretariat Session of the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions. This event will take place on 9 June 2015.
