From March 13 to 17, B. Sarsenbayev, Chairman of the Management Board of the N. Nazarbayev Center for the Development of Interfaith and Intercivilization Dialogue, on a working trip to the Turkestan region.
During the visit, B. Sarsenbayev, as an honorary guest, took part in a seminar on strengthening multi-confessional relations between Muslims and Christians. The seminar, organized by the US non-governmental organization "LYN Community", was attended by the Chairman of the Committee on Religious Affairs of the Ministry of Information and Social Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan Y. Nukezhanov, as well as representatives of religious associations of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.
In his welcoming speech, B. Sarsenbayev noted the importance of this event, emphasized that the N. Nazarbayev Center for the Development of Interfaith and Intercivilizational Dialogue makes significant work to preserve interfaith dialogue.
"The participants of the Congress unanimously recognized that in the conditions of the modern post-pandemic world, it is extremely important to strengthen dialogue and trust, equality of all faiths, since they are based on ideals aimed at affirming the value of human life, peace, mutual understanding and mutual respect. All this was reflected in the final Declaration of the Congress, which is in harmony with the current agenda of all global international platforms," B. Sarsenbayev said.
At the same time, on March 15, Bulat Sarsenbayev met with Mayor of Turkestan region Darkhan Satybaldy, at which the parties discussed the special importance of the instruction of the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on strengthening work in the field of religion in Kazakhstan and the need to preserve spiritual values. The meeting also discussed the results of the VII Congress of the Leaders of World and Traditional Religions as a unique dialogue platform for ensuring interfaith stability and it’s Declaration.
Along with this, on March 15, a lecture was held by the Chairman of the Management Board of the Center B. Sarsenbayev on the results of the VII Congress of the Leaders of World and Traditional Religions and its Declaration for students of the Khoja Akhmet Yassawi International Kazakh-Turkish University.
As part of the lecture, B. Sarsenbayev briefed students, undergraduates, teachers to the unique Kazakh model of peaceful coexistence, building a tolerant society and interfaith dialogue. The purpose of the event is to convey to the audience the key messages of the unique dialogue platform – the Congress of the Leaders of World and Traditional Religions and the final Declaration of the VII Congress, promotion of the results of the last international event.
During the lecture, B. Sarsenbayev informed the participants about the implementation of tasks to further promote the ideas of the Congress and its final document – the Declaration signed by spiritual leaders of world and traditional religions, politicians, heads of international organizations within the framework of the VII Congress.
Then there was a tour of the university with the participation of the rector of IKTU Zhanar Temirbekova and the representative of the rector Peyami Battal.
