Chairman of the Senate Maulen Ashimbayev held a meeting with Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan.
They discussed the preparations for the upcoming VII Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions, which will be held on September 14-15, 2022 in Nur-Sultan.
The interlocutors also touched upon the implementation of cultural and humanitarian projects and stressed the importance of promoting the right system of values in the society. The speaker of the Senate noted that the Orthodox Christians of Kazakhstan, along with representatives of other religious denominations, make an important contribution to strengthening social harmony and inter-religious dialogue.
At the end of the meeting the parties expressed hope for the continuation of constructive dialogue and cooperation between the Secretariat of the Congress and the Metropolitan District of the Russian Orthodox Church in Kazakhstan.
