In order to establish and develop cooperation in the field of holding joint events, opening dialogue platforms and discussion platforms on the interaction of religions, cultures and civilizations, Chairman of the Board of the N. Nazarbayev Center for the Development of Interfaith and Intercivilization Dialogue Bulat Sarsenbayev and Rector of the Eurasian National University named after L.N. Gumilyov Yerlan Sydykov signed a memorandum of cooperation.
In his opening remarks, Bulat Sarsenbayev cordially congratulated the staff of L. N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University on the 25th anniversary of its establishment, stressing that the university makes a significant contribution to the scientific and educational space and to the training of qualified personnel. B. Sarsenbayev noted that over the years of its activity the university has gained international prestige, becoming one of the leading research universities in the world. The Chairman of the Center wished the university staff further success and prosperity in the scientific and educational field.
Noting the importance of signing the memorandum, Bulat Sarsenbayev stressed that the document is aimed not only at organizing guest lectures, expert meetings with the participation of religious leaders, scientists and representatives of the N.Nazarbayev Center, but also at attracting university students who are fluent in foreign languages as volunteers. to various kinds of joint events, including during the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions and its institutions.
At the same time, the memorandum provides for joint research, scientific internships, the release of a series of publications in analytical, scientific, research and other directions in the publications of the University and the Center, as well as the development of academic cooperation, on an ongoing basis.
In addition, Bulat Sarsenbayev informed the interlocutor that this year it is planned to hold a meeting of the Secretariat of the Congress chaired by the Chairman of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan M. Ashimbaev, and in 2022 the next VII Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions will be held.
In turn, Eurasian National University Rector E. Sydykov emphasized the ever-growing role of the religious community in the world, noting that in this regard, the need to develop research projects in the field of interfaith relations is becoming more urgent than ever.
