On November 5, 2020, the Minister of information and public development of the Republic of Kazakhstan Aida Balayeva met with Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan.
During the conversation, the Minister noted that the development of constructive state-confessional relations is one of the important areas of state policy. This is especially true for religious associations that form spiritual traditions and make a significant contribution to strengthening peace and harmony.
She also noted that the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan is a reliable partner of the state in forming spiritual and moral culture, preserving national values and traditions in society, and instilling a sense of patriotism in young people.
Aida Balayeva stressed that the Ministry of information and public development is building partnerships with religious associations in the country, including the Orthodox Church.
In turn, Metropolitan Alexander noted that effective state-confessional relations in Kazakhstan contribute to the sustainable development of the religious situation in line with stability, as well as ensure unity and harmony in Kazakhstan's society.
The parties expressed their intention to further cooperate in promoting the principles of interfaith harmony and interreligious dialogue.
At the end of the meeting, the Minister congratulated on the 25th anniversary of the resumption of activity of one of the main cultural and spiritual monuments of our country-the ascension Cathedral in Almaty and wished peace, kindness and prosperity.
