Senate Speaker and Head of the Secretariat of the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions Maulen Ashimbayev hosted Chief Rabbi of Kazakhstan Yeshaya Cohen.
The Senate Speaker noted that the Jewish clergy is an important partner of the state in safeguarding of peace and inter-confessional harmony in Kazakhstan, playing a meaningful role in the advancement of culture and spiritual life in the country.
Maulen Ashimbayev congratulated the Chief Rabbi and the Jewish community of Kazakhstan on the bright holiday of Sukkot. The Chairman of the Senate noted that this ancient holiday strengthens faith and unity, and has a strong moral sense.
The parties exchanged their opinions on the implementation of the results of the past Congresses of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions, and discussed the issues of further advancement of interreligious dialogue.
Maulen Ashimbayev stressed that the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions gained worldwide recognition and became an essential element of the global inter-civilization dialogue.
