The event was attended by the Chairman of the Committee on Religious Affairs E. Nukezhanov, Acting Chairman of the Board of the Center M.Kalizhanov, as well as heads of the relevant department and religious representatives.
The maintopics of discussion were amendments to the Law on Religious Activity and Religious Associations as of January 10, 2025, as well as the participation ofreligious leaders in the VIII Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions and the II Forum of Young Religious Leaders.
In hisspeech, E. Nukezhanov emphasized that the basis for the stability and successful reforms is the interfaith harmony and social cohesion. He noted the importantrole of religious associations in the spiritual and moral consent of citizens in regard to fundamental values.
Additionally,attention was focused on the development of interfaith dialogue and ensuring freedom of religion. Representatives of religious associations of Kazakhstanexpressed support for the ideas of tolerance and strengthening of interreligious cooperation, noting the importance of the Congress of Leaders ofWorld and Traditional Religions as a unique international platform.
At the end of the meeting, the parties confirmed their readiness to continue cooperation.
