On May 19-21, Bulat Sarsenbayev, Chairman of the Board of the N.Nazarbayev Center for the Development of Interfaith and Intercivilizational Dialogue, took part in the XIII International Economic Summit: "Russia - the Islamic world: "KazanSummit 2022", dedicated to the 1100th anniversary of the adoption of Islam by Volga Bulgaria.
During the trip, the Chairman of the Board, as the Commissioner for promoting the goals and objectives of the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions, held a number of meetings with the Chairman of the Centralized Religious Organization of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Tatarstan, Mufti Kamil Hazrat Samigullin, Metropolitan Kirill of Kazan and Tatarstan, where he informed about the work of the Center for the organization and preparation of the VII Congress and noted the importance of interfaith cooperation between our countries.
"The upcoming VII Congress will be one of the main international events of the year, in which Kazakhstan will demonstrate to the world its commitment to the ideas of tolerance, openness, mutual respect and trust between the state and society," B.Sarsenbayev said during the meetings.
In order to further promote the Congress in the international arena, during the Summit, Chairman of the Board discussed the prospects for mutually beneficial cooperation in the development of interreligious dialogue with the Acting Rector of the Muslim Religious Organization of the Spiritual Educational Organization of Higher Education "Bulgarian Islamic Academy" A.Timerkhanov. The parties decided to sign a memorandum of cooperation and expressed readiness in the further implementation of joint projects.
Also, during his visit to Kazan, B.Sarsenbayev took part in the ceremony of installing a memorial stone for the construction of the Cathedral Mosque of the 1100th anniversary of the adoption of Islam by Volga Bulgaria, which should become the center of attraction for Muslims of Tatarstan and receive up to 10 thousand believers.
By the results of the working trip, the Chairman of the Management Board gave an interview to the country's leading TV channel GTRK "Tatarstan", where he spoke in detail about the activities of the N.Nazarbayev Center and the importance of the Congress at the global level.
In general, foreign partners noted the relevance of the upcoming VII Congress and its unique role in promoting the principles of peacemaking, coexistence, equality and tolerance.
