The tenth regular session of the Secretariat of the Congress chaired by Speaker of the Senate of the Parliament, Head of the Secretariat of the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions Kairat Mami was closed today in Astana.
Addressing the final speech to the participants of the session, K. Mami stressed fruitfulness of the session, which confirmed general desire of representatives of different cultures and religions to bring peace, security, cooperation, mutual respect, equality, justice and tolerance.
Calling interfaith and intercultural dialogue “a popular and effective tool for building civilized relations between nations and religions”, the speaker noted importance of this discussion for success of the forthcoming fourth Congress of religious leaders.
Referring to the outcomes of the event, K. Mami said that the agreements reached will become a solid basis for continuing our useful dialogue aimed at strengthening peace and concord, cooperation of all faiths for the sake of a better future for people all around the world.
Within the meeting all the issues inscribed on the agenda of the session of the X session of the Secretariat were considered. The draft Concept of the Council of Religious Leaders was approved and the Minutes of the X session of the Secretariat was adopted.
The Fourth Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions will be held on May 30-31, 2012, in Astana. The theme “Peace and concord, as the choice of mankind” is determined as the main theme of the forthcoming forum.
Announcing the session of the Secretariat closed, K. Mami thanked the participants of the event for productive discussion and support of Kazakhstan initiative on holding of the Congress of Religious Leaders.
