The International Center for Interfaith and Interreligious Dialogue held an online meeting with the leadership of the international organization Religions for Peace—the world’s largest global interreligious organization, headquartered in New York.

The meeting was attended by the Chair of the Center’s Board, Gulsana Kozhabay, staff members of the Center, and Deputy Secretary General of Religions for Peace, Deepika Singh.

During the meeting, the parties discussed key areas of cooperation for 2026. Gulsana Kozhabay expressed appreciation to the leadership of Religions for Peace for its contribution to strengthening bilateral relations, as well as for its continued and active participation in the Congress of the Leaders of World and Traditional Religions. She also presented the Center’s action plan, which includes the convening of the XXIV Meeting of the Secretariat of the Congress, an expert roundtable, and various conferences, roundtables, and seminars to be held at international venues.

As part of the discussion of key agenda items, Deepika Singh provided a detailed overview of the activities of the World Assembly of Religions for Peace, which serves as a unique platform for bringing together religious leaders and civil society to address pressing global challenges. It was noted that the organization has extensive experience in organizing large-scale forums in close partnership with the United Nations and its regional entities.

In the context of institutional cooperation, the parties considered the prospect of including Religions for Peace in the work of the Secretariat of the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions, and discussed the possibility of participation by the Center and the leadership of the Secretariat of the Congress in future sessions of the World Assembly of Religions for Peace.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties confirmed their readiness for the practical implementation of a number of joint projects aimed at promoting the initiatives of the Congress and the Astana Peace Declaration 2025, as well as advancing women’s leadership in the interfaith sphere.

The participants emphasized that the consolidation of efforts by international organizations is a necessary condition for strengthening global peace, mutual respect, and interfaith harmony.
