L.N.Gumilyov Eurasian National University has become a platform for discussing the Development Concept of the Congress of the Leaders of World and Traditional Religions

On February 7, 2024, a lecture was held at the L.N.Gumilyov Eurasian National University dedicated to promoting the Development Concept of the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions for 2023-2033. The purpose of this event was to present a vision of the further development of the Congress and its role in the development and strengthening of interreligious dialogue and cooperation in the modern world.

During the lecture, Bulat Sarsenbayev, Chairman of the Board of the N.Nazarbayev Center for the Development of Interfaith and Intercivilizational Dialogue, informed students, undergraduates and teaching staff with the Kazakh model of peaceful coexistence, building a tolerant society and interfaith dialogue. The results of the VII Congress of the Leaders of World and Traditional Religions and the special role of the Concept in promoting the ideas of peace were also discussed.

"Development Concept of the Congress was developed on the initiative of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan K.Tokayev in order to strengthen the interreligious dialogue platform of the Congress in the global community. This is a unique opportunity for the educational institution and the industry as a whole to receive detailed information about the Concept and its importance in the development of dialogue between cultures, religions and civilizations," - said the Chairman of the Board of the Center.

It should be noted that the N.Nazarbayev Center has planned a series of lectures to explain the key messages of the Development Concept of the Congress on the basis of leading educational institutions of Kazakhstan: Al-Farabi Kazakh National university, Nazarbayev University, Maqsut Narikbayev University, Egyptian University of Islamic culture Nur-Mubarak, etc.

For reference: The development concept of the Congress of the Leaders of World and Traditional Religions, adopted by the participants of the XXI Secretariat of the Congress in October 2023 in Astana, defines a common vision for the further development of the Congress, mission, goals and activities until 2033. Within the framework of the new development paradigm of the Congress in the coming decade, the mission of the Congress is to further strengthen mutual understanding and respect between communities of world and traditional religions, as well as realization the potential of spiritual diplomacy to help create a just, safe and prosperous future for all mankind.

The Congress will be developed as a global platform for dialogue and cooperation of religious figures, open to the participation of representatives of international organizations, national governments, non-governmental organizations, and research structures.

The Congress is being held every three years. Since 2003, seven Congresses of the Leaders of world and Traditional Religions have been held in Kazakhstan.
