Karaganda held a lecture on the Congress of the Leaders of World and Traditional Religions

March 28, 2023 as part of a working trip to Karaganda, the Chairman of the Board of the N. Nazarbayev Center for Development of Interfaith and Inter-Civilization Dialogue Bulat Sarsenbayev on the results of the VII Congress of the Leaders of World and Traditional Religions and its Declaration for Students of Karaganda Buketov University.

The lecture is aimed at discussing the key messages of a unique dialogue platform - the Congress of the Leaders of World and Traditional Religions and the final Declaration of the VII Congress and promoting its results.

As part of the lecture, B. Sarsenbayev acquainted students, undergraduates, professors and teachers with the unique Kazakh model of peaceful coexistence, building a tolerant society and interfaith dialogue.

In his speech B.Sarsenbayev specifically noted that Kazakhstan was the first in the entire post-Soviet space to choose a global format of inter-civilization and interreligious dialogue: It should be emphasized that none of the major leaders of the XXI century took the opportunity to initiate the creation of a long-term global strategy for the consolidation and promotion of inter-civilization, interreligious and interfaith dialogue, and use it to convene and organize effective activities of the Congress of the Leaders of World and Traditional Religions.

In addition, during the visit, the Chairman of the Board of the Centre held a number of bilateral meetings with the Deputy Akim of the Karaganda region on issues of social sphere, internal policy and social development Y.Alikulov and with the Head of the Department of Religious Affairs of Karaganda region Z.Sektay.

The discussions of the meetings also focused on key areas of activity of the Center, promotion of the conceptual ideas of the Congress of the Leaders of World and Traditional Religions at the international level, as well as about the preparations for the upcoming anniversary XXI Secretariat of the Congress, to be held in October 2023.

Earlier lectures about the Congress were held in Almaty - in the Nur-Mubarak University of Islamic Culture of Egypt, Kazakh National University named after al-Farabi, in Astana - in the Eurasian National University named after L.N. Gumilev, in Turkestan - in the Akhmet Yassawi International Kazakh-Turkish University.
