Chairman of the Board of N. Nazarbayev Center Bulat Sarsenbayev presented an invitation to VII Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions to the Grand Mufti of Jordan Abdulkarim al-Khasawneh

On November 30, 2021, as part of a working trip to Jordan, Chairman of the Board of N. Nazarbayev Center for Development of Interfaith and Intercivilization Dialogue Bulat Sarsenbayev met with the Grand Mufti of Jordan Abdulkarim al-Khasawneh.

During the meeting, the Commissioner for Promotion of the Goals and Objectives of the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions, Chairman of the Board of N. Nazarbayev Center B. Sarsenbayev presented an official invitation to the Grand Mufti of Jordan Abdulkarim al-Khasawneh to participate in the VII Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions on behalf of the Chairman Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Head of the Secretariat of the Congress M. Ashimbayev.

During the meeting, the parties discussed issues of strengthening cooperation between the two countries in the interfaith and interreligious spheres.

Particular attention during the meeting was paid to the key goals and objectives of N. Nazarbayev Center in promoting international initiatives of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan – Elbasy N. Nazarbayev, which are aimed at finding effective solutions in establishing interfaith harmony.

In particular, the Grand Mufti of Jordan Abdulkarim al-Khasawneh was informed about the implementation of a set of events timed to coincide with the 30th anniversary of Kazakhstan's Independence and plans to prepare for the VII Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions in 2022.

In turn, the Grand Mufti of Jordan expressed gratitude to the Kazakh side for the invitation and expressed readiness to take part in the upcoming Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions. It was noted that the role of interreligious relations in the international arena is growing today and this determines the importance of exchanging experience within the framework of a dialogue platform – the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions.
