The opening of the international photo exhibition «Islam and Humanity: Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow» took place on the Day of the Capital

On July 2 of this year, on the eve of the Capital Day, an international photo exhibition «Islam and Humanity: Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow» was opened at the National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan, timed to coincide with the 30th anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The photo exhibition was organized by N. Nazarbayev Center for the Development of Interfaith and Inter-civilization Dialogue jointly with the National Museum of Kazakhstan within the framework of the concluded Memorandum of Cooperation.

The event was attended by the Chairman of the Board of N. Nazarbayev Center for the Development of Interfaith and Inter-civilization Dialogue Bulat Sarsenbayev, Scientific Secretary of the National Museum of Kazakhstan Sayalbek Gizzatov, Chairman of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Kazakhstan, Supreme Mufti Nauryzbay kazhy Taganuly, Archbishop of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of St. Mary in Nur-Sultan Tomas Bernard Peta, Keeper of the Assumption Cathedral – Archpriest of the Astanaai Church District of the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan Dmitriy Baydek, Deputy Doyenne accredited in the Republic of Kazakhstan, Ambassador of the State of Palestine Mr. Montaser Abu Zeid, as well as heads and representatives of foreign diplomatic missions of Georgia, Iraq, Oman and the United States in Republic of Kazakhstan.

Welcoming the participants of the photo exhibition, the Chairman of the Board of N. Nazarbayev Center Bulat Sarsenbayev stressed that Independent Kazakhstan, based on the values ​​of interethnic and inter-confessional tolerance, initiated a dialogue between representatives of the world's largest religions. And the key mission of N.Nazarbayev Center is to promote the Kazakh model of peace and harmony, the ideas of the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions at the international level. «I am sure that by uniting representatives of different confessions and religions on one platform, we will be able to jointly contribute to strengthening and promoting the ideas of peace, harmony and solidarity in the international community», - said Bulat Sarsenbayev.

In addition, Bulat Sarsenbayev congratulated all those present on the upcoming holiday, noting that the capital, which rightfully bears the name of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan – Elbasy N. Nazarbayev, has become not just the center of the Eurasian space, a platform for high-level events and an important point on the map the world, but also the flagship of the country's development – a place where dreams come true, where you want to live and grow.

         Recall that the photo exhibition «Islam and Humanity: Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow» was organized with the support of the international and domestic partners of N. Nazarbayev Center, among them: the International Islamic University of Islamabad (Pakistan), the Caucasus Muslims Office (Azerbaijan), the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of the Russian Federation, International Center for Interreligious Dialogue (Iran), Egyptian University Al-Azhar, Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Kazakhstan, Karaganda Regional Mosque, Central Mosque of Almaty.

Previously, the works of the photo exhibition were exhibited in the Palace of Peace and Reconciliation, as well as in the Central State Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Almaty.
