Members of the Armenia-Kazakhstan Friendship Group of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia visited the N. Nazarbayev Center

On November 21, 2023 Bulat Sarsenbayev, Chairman of the Management Board of the N. Nazarbayev Center for the Development of Interfaith and Intercivilization Dialogue, met with representatives of the Armenia-Kazakhstan Friendship Group of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, represented by the Deputy Chairman of the Standing Committee on Regional Issues and Eurasian Integration of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, member of the Civil Contract party V. Hakobyan, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to the Republic of Kazakhstan A. Ghevondyan, Chairman of the Counting Commission of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, members of the Standing Commission on Science, Education, Culture, Diaspora, Youth and Sports          N. Babayan, Chairman of the Standing Commission on Financial, Credit and Budgetary Issues of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia G. Papoyan, member of the Standing Committee on Financial, Credit and Budgetary Issues of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia N. Grigoryan and etc.

During the meeting, B. Sarsenbayev, as the Commissioner for promoting the goals and objectives of the Congress of the Leaders of World and Traditional Religions, introduced the guests to the unique Kazakh model of peaceful coexistence, building a tolerant society and interfaith dialogue. Special attention was paid during the conversation to the initiative of Kazakhstan – the Congress of the Leaders of World and Traditional Religions, as well as the Concept of Development of the Congress of the Leaders of World and Traditional Religions for 2023-2033 "Religious Leaders for a Just and Secure World" adopted at the XXI meeting of the Congress Secretariat. The Chairman of the Board of the Center noted that «the document is aimed at deepening the cooperation of the Congress with UN institutions and other authoritative international organizations in order to expand the range of partners and the geography of the forum's activities».

In turn, the representatives of the friendship group highly appreciated the unique platform of Kazakhstan in ensuring interreligious harmony in the state and world, also stressed the importance of Kazakhstan's initiatives in consolidating peacekeeping efforts on security issues in the international arena.

Summarizing the results, the participants of the meeting agreed that the experience of Kazakhstan is an indicator of the successful building of its own model of intercultural interaction, which contributes to the development of the world at the global level.

At the end of the meeting, a tour of the Museum of Peace and Reconciliation was organized.
