Maulen Ashimbayev met with a representative of the Muslim World League

Chairman of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan - Head of the Secretariat of the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions Maulen Ashimbayev met with Advisor to the Secretary-General of the Muslim World League Abdul Aziz Ben Ahmad Sarhan.

The Speaker of the Senate extended his gratitude to the guest for his participation in the work of the XIX Secretariat of the Congress and mentioned that the primary goals of the forum are receiving positive response and wide support in the Islamic world.

“The Congress is becoming increasingly important in international life. I hope that the interfaith dialogue in Nur-Sultan will further play the role of a major driver for ensuring peace, reconciliation and cooperation at the international level,” Maulen Ashimbayev said.

The interlocutors also discussed difficulties of Hajj performance by pilgrims, including those from Kazakhstan, due to the coronavirus pandemic. The Senate Chairman expressed his hope that the situation in the post-pandemic period would stabilize and Kazakhstanis would have an opportunity to perform their religious duty once again.

In conclusion, Maulen Ashimbayev delivered the invitation to the Secretary-General of the Muslim World League to attend the VII Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions to be held in September 2022 in the capital of Kazakhstan.
