N. Nazarbayev Center for Development of Interfaith and Intercivilization Dialogue signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with the Union of Artists of Astana

Today, February 9, Chairman of the Board of N. Nazarbayev Center for Development of Interfaith and Intercivilization Dialogue Bulat Sarsenbayev and Chairman of the Union of Artists of Astana Umirali Ismailov signed a Memorandum of Cooperation.

The purpose of the memorandum is the implementation of close cooperation in the field of culture, art, as well as intercivilizational and intercultural dialogue.

The sides intend to promote and popularize the ideas of the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions as a unique global interreligious dialogue platform, as well as cooperate in the direction of joint organization, preparation and holding of the VII Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions.

In addition, the Memorandum provides for the development and implementation of scientific and cultural and educational projects, museum and other exhibitions, works of Kazakh artists, which are aimed at promoting the values ​​of the spiritual and historical heritage of the Kazakh people to the international and domestic community, as well as the significance of Kazakhstan's unique foreign policy initiatives in the field of security.

One of the main promising areas of interaction is the preparation of joint programs and thematic projects aimed at educating the society and the individual the values of tolerance and friendship, instilling a respectful attitude towards representatives of any confession.

During the meeting, Chairman of the Board of the Center Bulat Sarsenbayev noted that over its 60-year history, the Union of Artists of Astana has made an invaluable contribution to the formation and development of the art of Kazakhstan, transforming the capital beyond recognition.

«We highly appreciate the partnership relations established between the Center and the Union, as we are united by common goals and interests. I am sure that the joint events envisaged in the Memorandum – international and republican conferences, seminars and symposiums in the field of religion, interreligious and interfaith dialogue, theology, history, art and museum business, as well as mutual consultative work will bring results in advancing common tasks», - said Bulat Sarsenbaev.

At the same time, the Head of the Center informed Chairman of the Union of Artists about the active preparatory work for the upcoming VII meeting of the Congress on the topic «The role of leaders of world and traditional confessions in the socio-spiritual development of mankind in the post-pandemic period», which will be held on September 14-15, 2022 in Nur - Sultana.

In turn, Chairman of the Union of Artists of Astana, Umirali Ismailov, emphasized the role of N. Nazarbayev Center in promoting the initiatives of the country's leadership at the international level in ensuring interfaith harmony.

Following the meeting, Chairman of the Board of the Center invited Umirali Ismailov to take part in a series of round tables on the eve of the VII Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions, which will be organized by the Center together with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the basis of diplomatic missions abroad.
